Office of Diversity & Inclusion

  • The Minnesota State University Moorhead Office of Diversity & Inclusion offers four cultural and identity centers open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Through a variety of programming and specialized resources, our centers help build a campus community that is diverse, inclusive, globally aware and just.

  • Diversity & Inclusion Resources
    Cultural & Identity Centers
Our cultural and identity centers are unique spaces providing students, faculty and staff with opportunities to find a sense of community, support and belonging; to learn more about the diverse cultures and identities associated with each center; to engage in courageous conversations; and to empower themselves and each other.
    Support Services & Advocacy
We offer a wide range of support services to help you achieve your personal, academic and career goals. We work with staff, faculty and administrators to advocate for your needs and to foster an inclusive campus environment.
    Programming & Events
We collaborate with student organizations, campus departments and faculty to offer events that celebrate history and heritage months and the diverse cultures and identities represented on our campus and in the community. See all our upcoming diversity events and activities on DragonCentral.
    Resources & Scholarships
We provide appropriate resources and referrals to support your success. Our office awards eight different types of diversity scholarships, and we will help you locate other funding sources.
    Lactation & Meditation Spaces
MSUM offers three private lactation and meditation rooms that offer quiet spaces to nurse, pump or pray throughout the weekdays. These spaces are available to the campus community as well as visitors.
    SMART Start Program
The SMART Start Program is designed to empower new students who are historically underrepresented in higher education. Participants engage in activities to share their diverse cultures and identities, participate in workshops to learn about resources available on campus, and develop a support network among their peers, staff and faculty.
