When your Mascot’s a dragon, the campus is lit… literally
Throughout the year at MSUM, students and faculty can expect to see some fire on campus. Whether it’s the Fire Breathing Dragon Statue on campus that gets fired up for big events, or the burning of the “M” where we actually set fire to a huge wooden “M” to kick off homecoming. There is no denying it… our campus is straight fire.

We have the nicest faculty
Everyone at MSUM has a story to share about their favorite professor. Mentorship is highly valued at MSUM and our faculty reflect that. They are accessible and ready to help you start something big without being overbearing. We know you'll agree when you visit campus!

Our Chicken Tortilla soup is the best. No contest.
Our campus boasts the best chicken tortilla soup, and rightfully so! It has the perfect balance of spice and savory flavors, mixed with juicy chicken and fresh vegetables. This hot meal hits the spot on those cold winter days. Don’t believe me? Just ask the students and faculty that go through 35 gallons of this soup every week.

Dragon Pride
Take one walk on campus and try to count how many MSUM shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, backpacks…any Dragon gear you pass. I dare you! I bet you lose count. Everywhere you go you’ll see students proud of their school and education, and they aren’t afraid to say it. We are proud to be Dragons.

How to get to class… in the winter
MSUM has been voted coldest campus in the nation by the Huffington Post, and believe us, we agree. When temperatures get below zero, our students start to get crafty. Whether it’s cutting through the CMU to get to Lommen, or cutting through the Center for the Arts to get to MacLean, our students know how to get from point A to point B without spending too much time outside.
