Completion of this program allows the student to apply for a Minnesota grades 5-8 general science teaching license. This license is not a stand-alone license but may be added to any existing teaching license as per the Board of Teaching regulations.
The MSUM Chemistry & Biochemistry department students have outstanding research opportunities—including immersive faculty-mentored research projects; access to well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories, extensive scientific instrumentation, computer facilities and a rich chemistry library; and forums to present their results at regional and/or national professional conferences.
The MSU Moorhead Chemistry & Biochemistry Department is on the Approved List of the American Chemical Society (ACS), a distinction earned by fewer than half of the nation’s chemistry departments.
