Assistive Technology Hands-on Experience With AAC Tools

Participants may take part in as many sessions as preferred. Each session offered is 2 hours in length for .2 ASHA CEUs for each session attended.

The participants of the Assistive Technology Hands-on Experience with Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Tools course will take part in hands-on experience with the implementation use of AAC tools for the AAC user (pediatric to adult). The course provides participants with a wealth of AAC tools ranging from no-tech to a level of high-tech for the consideration of assessment to trial.

  • Participants will explore a wealth of assistive technology augmentative alternative communication (AAC) tools ranging from no-tech to a level of high-tech.
  • Participants will discuss the on-going process when developing a customized AAC system.
  • Participants will identify the various methods of access for a customized AAC system.
