Honors College at Minnesota State Moorhead
FOR THOSE WHO ASPIRE TO DO MORE.
Launching in Fall 2026, the Honors College at Minnesota State Moorhead is designed for students who seek intellectual challenge, meaningful engagement, and boundless opportunity. More than an academic program, it is a community of scholars driven by curiosity, ambition, and a commitment to excellence.
Under the visionary leadership of Dean Kyja Kristjansson-Nelson, Honors students will experience an enriched curriculum, dynamic discussions, and hands-on learning that extends far beyond the classroom. With access to exclusive research, global experiences, and leadership opportunities, students will graduate with the confidence, knowledge, and adaptability to thrive in graduate programs, competitive careers, and an ever-evolving world.
At the heart of this experience is the dedicated Honors College space in Weld Hall, MSUM’s most historic building, currently undergoing a $23 million renovation. Here, students will find a place to collaborate, engage with faculty mentors, and cultivate lifelong connections.
Each year, 100 competitive scholarships will be offered to outstanding students through an interview process. These students will benefit from a $1 million investment in tuition scholarships, housing awards, and professional development stipends, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of ambition.
No matter your field of study, you can elevate your academic journey through Honors coursework, research, and mentorship. Any major at MSUM can be part of the Honors College.
Research, internships, global travel, and leadership development opportunities prepare students for success in an interconnected world.
Honors students will have a home in renovated Weld Hall, fostering community, collaboration, and intellectual exploration.
Engage in high-profile lectures, faculty seminars, and networking opportunities with distinguished professionals.
Competitive tuition and experiential learning awards support students in reaching their full potential.
The Honors College at MSUM is more than a program—it's a community of bold thinkers and creative trailblazers. Here, students will push boundaries and forge their own paths to success. With the support of dedicated professors, transformative opportunities, and a space designed for discovery, our Honors students graduate not only prepared for the future but ready to shape it.
