Collection Description

This collection consists of three reels of microfilm of the records of seven Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Clay and Becker Counties, Minnesota. The records in the 39 volumes include minutes of meetings, ministerial acts, treasurer’s records, and records of auxiliary organizations for the following churches:

Several of these congregations merged in 1921 to form Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal. Others cooperated by sharing ministers and having joint functions. Therefore, records of one church may contain information on other churches.
