Historical Sketch

Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Moorhead [Minnesota] Chapter, was organized in May 1942 as Epsilon Chapter of Tau State. The purpose of the Society is to unite women educators and to advance the professional interests and positions of women in education. The Society encourages improvement in its members’ professional competence and helps identify and develop leadership potential. Delta Kappa Gamma does this by providing a well defined program of work, by awarding scholarships, and by sponsoring workshops, seminars, and study programs.  

Collection Description

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Epsilon Chapter of Tau consists of annual chapter reports on the following; expansion and initiation, letters and publication, necrology, personal growth and services, professional affairs, program planning, research, scholarships, world fellowship committee, publications and publicity. There are also by-laws, articles of incorporation, financial and budget reports, minutes, reports of the state convention, and Pioneer Women Teacher studies and biographies, yearbooks and scrapbooks. Included in the scrapbooks are news clippings concerning Epsilon members, honors, pictures taken at conventions, announcements, programs, and music.
