Historical Sketch

The Moorhead League of Women Voters has existed since 1954. Its purpose has been to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government, and to take action on governmental measures and policies in the public interest.

Collection Description

The records of the Moorhead League of Women Voters include meeting minutes, history, monthly bulletin, newsletters, by-laws and amendments, national and local correspondence, campaign material, and projects and studies conducted by the league. The minutes and monthly bulletins detail the agenda and the consensus of league studies and projects. Newspaper clippings from a scrapbook depict the concerns, projects, and activities of the Moorhead League. Also included in the records are the 50th anniversary story of the League of Women Voters (national) and the 25th anniversary celebration accompanied by slides and tape of the Moorhead League of Women Voters. Also included are local, state, and national campaign brochures.
