Biographical Sketch

Donald Sinclair was born January 9, 1899 in Stephen, Minnesota. He served in the United States Navy during World War I. After his tour of duty, he attended the University of Minnesota, graduating from there in 1924. Mr. Sinclair was married and had three children. He and his family farmed in the Stephen area until he was elected to the Minnesota State Senate in 1946. He was re-elected five times, achieving membership on nine key committees and also serving as the president pro-tempore of the Senate. He retired after completing his term in 1971. Mr. Sinclair died in Warren, Minnesota in 1978.  

Collection Description

This collection contains materials gathered by Donald Sinclair while he served in the Minnesota State Senate from 1946-1971. The collection is arranged alphabetically by topic. Included are campaign literature, census information, maps, newspaper clippings, photographs, speeches, and various other reports and materials pertaining to issues studied by committees on which he served.
