RN to BSN Admitted Student Requirements

Upon admission to the RN to BSN program, new students will receive information about required documentation of immunizations and other screenings, CPR, background checks, etc prior to program start.

The RN-BSN student handbook is your guide to the program processes and your success. Students are accountable for familiarizing themselves with that latest Handbook version contents and for compliance with the policies and procedures within the Handbook.

To comply with Minnesota, federal, and agency requirements for MSUM’s RN-BSN students must be compliant with all verifications prior to starting the NURS 348L course and remain current with verifications. Thereafter, some requirements may need re-verification, to be current with verifications. Also, some agencies may add requirements beyond what are currently required; in such case students would need to comply with the added clinical site requirement(s).

WHERE to Upload Required Verifications
Students in the RN-BSN program are required to complete and submit all verifications (immunizations, CPR, background checks etc.) to the Verifications for Nursing Program Compliance D2L Brightspace course.

  • Approximately 45 days prior to start of the first semester, students will have access to this D2L Brightspace course. All requirements MUST be completed prior to the start of their the NURS 348L Public Health course. We encourage students to complete requirements in NURS 301 Transition course.
  • Please note that there may be additional agency related requirements to complete and submit once starting the program.

Details and information regarding each verification are included within the Verifications for Nursing Program Compliance D2L Brightspace course. To remain program compliant, it is absolutely the student’s responsibility to remain current with verifications. Students who are non-compliant face the risk of removal from NURS 348L course. If there are question please email nursing@mnstate.edu.
