The Commercial Music minor is designed for focused study in the areas of performing, composing, and arranging music in commercial and jazz styles.

Core Requirements (17 credits)
- MUS 107A Music Theory I (3)
- MUS 287 Commercial/Jazz Improvisation and Theory I (2)
- MUS 387 Commercial/Jazz Improvisation and Theory II (2)
- MUS 372 Commercial/Jazz Arranging (2)
- MUS 15* or 25* Private Lessons (4) (at least 2 credits must be at 200 level)
- MUS 320* or MUS 330* Ensemble (4) (must repeat 4 times for 4 total credits)
Restricted Electives (4-6 credits)
Two courses to be chosen from:
- MUS 215 History of Jazz (3)
- MUS 217 Pop/Rock Music for Non-Majors (3)
- MUS 240 American Music (3)
- MUS 472 Commercial/Jazz Arranging II (2)
- MUS 487 Commercial/Jazz Improvisation and Theory III (2)
