Dr. Ximena Suarez-Sousa’s professional background is in educational psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisville (KY). Dr. Suarez-Sousa is currently a core faculty in the Educational Leadership doctoral program at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). Back in her native Peru, she conducted Applied Behavioral Analysis interventions to students with severe disabilities, provided counseling and training to families, as well as conducted research on parental stress, and validation of translated into Spanish psychoeducational assessment tools. From 2010 to 2019 she was faculty in the School of Teaching and Learning and served as the Special Education Master’s Degree Program Coordinator for 9 years. Dr. Suarez-Sousa also functioned as Co-Coordinator of Teacher Education Assessment and Accreditation for approximately 3 years as well as served as Site Visitor/Evaluator for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Her research interests include psychoeducational metrics’ norm development, validity and reliability studies, program impact studies, and adult learning orientation / online instructional practices. Most of her research is conducted within the quantitative research paradigm. Dr. Suarez-Sousa is the managing editor of The Interactive Journal of Global Leadership and Learning (IJGLL).
