School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership Learning Opportunities
In Minnesota State University Moorhead's School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership, you will explore learning opportunities that spark your interests, strengths and passions. You will receive the most current and essential curricula regarding emerging healthcare issues/trends, evidence-based practice, population-focused practice, leadership, and systems-thinking for impacting quality and safety outcomes in healthcare. MSUM programs focus on individual professions, including RN to BSN nursing, graduate nursing, and healthcare administration at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
MSUM strives to give you important, real-world application of critical concepts in your baccalaureate nursing education. You'll complete applied and experiential learning experiences online and in your geographical area. Upon completion of the undergraduate nursing program, you are eligible for the Minnesota Board of Nursing Public Health Nursing certification.
With the help of Health Services Administration faculty members, you can complete applied research projects during your internship. These projects are designed to advance your knowledge in the field of healthcare administration and give you an opportunity to present your student research project at and other venues.
Your required health services administration internship provides practical experience based upon the theoretical foundations learned in the classroom. You will develop your management skills under the guidance of an experienced healthcare executive. The hands-on immersion in the field reinforces a commitment to the profession and helps to narrow your career path.
MSUM and the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership encourage opportunities and support travel to health administration conferences and events. As a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), you’ll enjoy networking opportunities and a wide range of services to help launch your career in healthcare services administration.
