School of Science Scholarships
The MSUM School of Sciences offers a variety of scholarships are targeted specifically if you major in a sciences field. You can apply for scholarships through the online scholarship application.
Scholarship applications open October 1 and close February 1 every year. The scholarships are awarded for the following academic year, so applicants must be enrolled at MSUM for the next academic year.
This scholarship is awarded to upperclass students.
No additional requirements are needed.
This scholarship is awarded to students who will be of sophomore or junior standing in the fall of the next academic year and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time, outstanding senior students who are majoring in Biology.

This scholarship is awarded to senior students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in biology and show excellent promise of continuing in a career in the biological sciences.

This scholarship is awarded to sophomore, junior or senior students with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

This scholarship is awarded to students in Biosciences. Students must be a sophomore, junior or senior standing in the Fall of the next academic year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time, junior or senior students who are majoring in Bioscience, Chemistry, or Biotechnology and demonstrate financial need.
Financial need is determined through the FAFSA. If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at studentaid.gov.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are pursuing a degree in Biology and/or Chemistry.
No additional requirements are needed.
This scholarship is awarded to full-time, senior students who are majoring in Biological, Physical, or Earth Science Education and have outstanding potential for contributing to the field of Science Education.

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is majoring in Chemistry.
No additional requirements are needed.
This scholarship is awarded to full-time, senior students who are majoring in a degree offered by the Biosciences Department.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in a Humanities field.
Eligibility requires a declared major in a Humanities field and remains so for the duration of the scholarship. MSUM Humanities majors include:
- English, History, Humanities, Social Studies with a History Emphasis, Social Studies with an Anthropology Emphasis, Women’s & Gender Studies, Art History, Film Studies, Anthropology
Students who are eligible for this scholarship will be invited to the Scholarship Interview Day held annually in February on campus.
This award requires that the applicant be enrolled in Senior Project and submit a proposal for how to continue their senior project research. It is expected that the student recipient will present their research during a Spring conference (such as the MSUM Student Academic Conference or other professional organization). The awardee will also be expected to continue the research in the Spring.
Student must be enrolled in PHYS492 (Senior Project).

This scholarship is awarded to Physics majors with or without an emphasis in Astrophysics, or students minoring in Astronomy or students conducting Astronomy research.
