Learning Assistant Program Faculty Resources
Some resources that may be of use to faculty interested in implementing the Learning Assistants teaching model in their courses:
- Learning Assistant Alliance (based at the University of Colorado Boulder) is the organization that promotes the use of the LA teaching model internationally. Their website offers information on the Learning Assistant teaching model as well as resources in performing learning gains assessment. They also offer regular workships on implementing LAs in the classroom.
- A scoping review of literature assessing the impact of the learning assistant model by Barrasso and Spilios (2021): This journal article is recommended for any faculty member who wants to get an overview of not only the pedagogy behind the learning asssistant teaching model but also a detailed summary of much of the current research regarding its impact.
