Celebrations of Nations is an annual event at MSUM in which international students set up booths to display art, clothing and information about their countries. The students also cook traditional foods to sample, provide entertainment of traditional music and dances, and the celebration ends with an outstanding fashion show.
Sash Ceremony is designed for graduating international students. MSUM will provide a sash and a pin from their country of citizenship. International students will wear their sashes at commencement.

All international students who are in F-1 and J-1 visa status must follow a set of immigration regulations as outlined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in order to maintain the students international student status. The following rules and regulations is a guide to properly maintain international students status at MSUM.
The rules and regulations pertaining to employment for F-1 visa holders are complex. Before accepting any employment AND before working, please discuss your options with an immigration advisor. Unauthorized employment is very serious and will negatively impact your F-1 visa status. Your F-1 student visa permits you to work on campus at the university that issued your I-20 while you are enrolled in a full course of study. Your MSUM I-20 is your proof of work eligibility for on-campus employment at MSUM only. You must maintain F-1 status to be eligible for this employment benefit.
Students from certain Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs are eligible to apply for a 24 month extension. Students must notify MSUM International Student Services when you change employers, jobs titles and/or if you are unemployed during STEM OPT.
International Student and Scholar Services recognizes that, on rare occasions, serious extenuating circumstance may prevent you from adhering from establishing the scholarship requirements, including observing the published deadline dates for the volunteer form submission including maintaining academic status. Submission of the appeal does not guarantee automatic approval of the scholarship.
