Title IX of the Educational Amendments prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. This policy supplements the Minnesota State System lB.1 Nondiscrimination in Education and Employment Opportunity Policy and the MSUM Sexual Violence Policy, including sexual assault, and applies to all members the Athletics department, both employees and student-athletes. Title IX provides that: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

In all graduate programs, a final integrating experience which assesses the body of knowledge that has been acquired through the course work and research is required. No degree is granted simply as the record of the accumulation of appropriate courses with adequate grades. The form of the final requirement differs among degree programs, but always includes an oral discourse. In it, the examining committee, as established on Form 2, discusses the thesis or project research, the creative endeavor, or the integrating paper, and assesses the student's mastery of the several components of the degree course work.
The purpose of this policy is to define Graduate Assistant employment and to describe the requirements for hiring and compensation.
Graduate students are required to maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale to be continued in a graduate program. Graduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of graduation.

MSUM policty on graduate students who wish to submit an appeal need to complete the Graduate Academic Appeals form.
MSUM Graduate Courses Taken by Undergraduate Students Undergraduate students who meet the requirements may enroll in 500 or 600 level courses for graduate credit.
Courses at the 600 and 700 level are offered for graduate credit only. Courses offered at the 600 level are open to graduate students or to undergraduate seniors who meet specific requirements.
All New Entering Freshman (NEF) as well as any student who received a high school diploma on January 2015 or later, including those students who transferred to MSU Moorhead in the Spring Term after attending one semester at another institution, are required to live on campus their first year.
