Benefits include:

Full tuition stipend plus partial living expenses, totaling approximately $13,500 for one academic year.
Received an undergraduate degree in the STEM field – science, technology, engineering or mathematics from any accredited university.
Exceptional mentoring by experienced teacher leaders.
Paid professional development opportunities.
Strong community support and engagement with other Noyce scholars.

If a prior STEM degree has not been earned, then junior status in a STEM major required prior to application.
Commit to full-time, on-campus schooling at the MSU Moorhead campus.
Demonstrate the passion and perseverance to pursue a STEM teaching career.
The average completion time for post-graduates to obtain an education degree in the STEM field is 1 ½ to 2 years. However, your plan will vary depending on your undergraduate degree and any other related coursework you’ve completed.
For each year of funding received, two years of STEM teaching in a secondary public school is required.

Minnesota State University received a NSF Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Grant (Phase I) in 2015 which has the following project objectives:

Increase the number of new STEM teachers prepared to work with ethnically and economically diverse students in high needs schools.
Augment new STEM teachers’ potential for sustained, successful classroom teaching in high needs schools through innovative coursework, targeted field experiences, and mentorship support.
Produce new STEM teachers equipped to provide effective instruction in high needs schools.
