    Kaltura MediaSpace 

    Kaltura MediaSpace is a video management system provided for faculty, students, and staff. To access your MediaSpace, log in at using your StarID.

    Refer to this list of best practices when creating videos for academic purposes.

    KalturaCapture allows you to record your computer screen, camera and microphone for lectures, announcements, instructional videos, and more. Recordings are automatically uploaded to your “My Media” collection for easy sharing.

    In addition to recording content, you can also upload your existing video or audio files or link to your YouTube favorites so that you can keep all your media organized in one place. Channels and playlists can be created to help keep your content organized by topic, course or audience.

    Kaltura encodes all media to insure optimal playback across platforms and device types. Content can be shared with a direct link or it can be embedded right within your D2L course items.

    Track viewer progress, measure comprehension and engage viewers by creating video quizzes. Quiz scores can even be automatically recorded in D2L grades area.

     Captions_icon     Closed Captioning

    To help you work towards universal design, Closed Captions should be included in your videos. Machine generated captions can be ordered within your MediaSpace account for all your content. Accuracy will depend on several of factors, but typically machine generated content will need some review and editing to make it accurate.
