    —Provides access to all kinds of educational resources, including links for various subject areas, as well as lesson plans and curricula.

    BBC Learning—Includes resources and learning activities for various subjects including: Art & Design, English, Geography, Health, History, Languages, Science, Weather, etc. Also includes lesson plans under the "Schools" link.

    Britannica: Web’s Best Sites, Chosen by Our Editors—Encyclopaedia Britannica's Internet guide is a World Wide Web navigation service that classifies, rates, and reviews thousands of web sites. Sites can be accessed through a search or through broad categories. Includes information on a broad range of topics, including education.

    Busy Teacher's Cafe—Designed to provide teachers with resource materials, classroom activities, and graphic organizers.

    cK-12—Proves high quality educational content through online textbooks. Focuses on mathematics and science, grades K-12.

    Discovery School—Sponsored by the Discovery Channel, site provides lesson plans for many subject areas from grades K-12, as well as other teaching resources.

    Education World—Includes lesson plans, daily features and columns, and many other resources for educators, preschool through high school.

    EduHound: Everything for Education K-12—Resources for most subjects taught K-12. Includes lesson plans.

    Edutopia: The George Lucas Educational Foundation—Includes discussion and examples of innovative practices for grades K-12, including assessment, project-based learning, teacher supervision and development, and technology integration.

    The Gateway to 21st Century Skills—Union catalog which has thousands of lesson plans, curriculum units and other educational materials distributed on web sites across the Internet. Includes the AskERIC Lesson Plan Collection.

    Harcourt Brace School Publishers: The Learning Site
    —Provides teaching activities related to reading/language arts, spelling, mathematics, social studies, science, health, and art appropriate for elementary and middle school. While the ideas often refer to specific Harcourt Brace textbooks, they can also be used independently.

    Houghton Mifflin Teachers' Center—Includes special information in reading/language arts, mathematics, and social studies. The social studies section includes outline maps for downloading. The "Activity Search" provides a search by curriculum area and grade level (K-8) for classroom activities and lesson plans.

    Interactives—"Interactives" provides educators and students with strategies, content, and activities that can enhance and improve students' skills in a variety of curricular areas, including math, language arts, science, and history. Activities are good for practice and review.

    —An extensive list of sites on the Internet useful for enhancing curriculum and teacher professional growth. Also provides access to lesson plans from the Discovery Channel.

    Kids.gov: A Safe Place to Learn & Play—For students, grades K-8, to explore government, social studies, science, careerts, health, music, art, and much more. Includes text, visuals, videos, relevant games, and additional resources for adults working with children and teens.

    Library of Congress: Teachers—Provides resources and lesson plans for teachers on a wide variety of topics.

    MentorBobEDU: Learnzillion Common Core—Playlists provide students with an interactive format to follow step-by-step content. Emphasis on math and writing.

    Minneapolis Public Library: Subject List of Internet Resources—Provides links to Internet resources in many subject areas. Sites selected by professional librarians.

    New York Times Learning Network on the Web: Teacher Connection (Grades 6-12)
    —Provides lesson plans in many subject areas based on the news. Includes a lesson plan archive.

    PBS Online—Provides information on PBS television shows and videos. Includes lesson plans for PBS productions and links to over 1,000 teacher resources online in the areas of arts and literature, health and vocation, social studies, mathematics, science, and "TechKnow." Resources include materials for preschool through high school levels.

    PrintableCalendars.com—Provides free printable calendars by month and year. Various size calendars are available.

    Scholastic
    —Publisher site that includes lesson plans, teaching activities, discussion guides for selected books published by Scholastic, and current events.

    Smithsonian Education—The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest complex of museums. The Education area provides lesson plans/resources in the arts, language arts, social studies, and science.
     
    StudyBlue—Contains millions of flash cards and online quizzes. Search for your topic.

    Teachers' Domain: Digital Media for the Classroom and Professional Development
    —Provides media resources and lesson plans in many subject areas. Lesson plans include links to handouts, rubrics, QuickTime Videos, and more. Free registration required.

    TeachersFirst.com—TeachersFirst is a rich collection of lessons, units, and web resources designed to save teachers time by delivering just what they need in a practical, user-friendly manner.

    Think Quest Library—Provides innovative resources for students of all ages on a wide range of educational topics. Featuring over 6,000 websites, the library is created by students from around the world.
     
    Thinkfinity—For educators to enhance their classroom intruction with lesson plans, interactive activities and other online resurces. Includes K-12 lesson plans. Also provides printable maps.
